created.TheMIBlesarethebasesforSNMPmanagerstoaccessinformationon
SNMPcongureddevices.
ThislecanthenbeusedbyanyMIBbrowsertogetaccessdirectlytothesymbol
name related to the device.
GeneratedSymbolNames
TheMIBlesyntax(ASN.1notation)imposessomerestrictionsconcerningthe
names.
Ifthesymbolnamedoesnotcomplywiththissyntax,theMIBgeneratorwilltrans-
formthesymbolnamesintoASN.1compatiblenames.
Thisincludes
• Therstsymbollettershouldbewritteninlowercase
• The‘_’(underscore)isnotallowed
• The‘‘(space)isnotallowed
• Specialcharacters(ä,ö,ü,é,à,è,etc.)arenotallowed
Theloglecontainsallchangesmadetothesymbolnames.
