Installing the System
This chapter explains how to set up and install your system hardware. The following

2.1 System Setup Overview
The following list summarizes the steps for setting up your system. The steps may
vary depending on the options in your system.
1. Select a location for the system, giving consideration to service access,
environmental requirements, and power requirements.
2. Confirm that you have all the desired accessories that ship with the system and
any accessories you may want to add.
3. Connect the keyboard, mouse, printer, and monitor or terminal.
4. Connect to the network hardware.
5. Verify your hardware setup.
2.2 Selecting a Location
When choosing a system location, keep in mind the environmental requirements and
power requirements for the system. Figure 2–1 shows the system dimensions and the
clearance needed to access the system for servicing.
